Live at PACK EXPO: Compact Horizontal Cartoning Machine

PMI KYOTO debuted its new KC-100F at PACK EXPO East 2022.

The new machine from PMI KYOTO is a continuous-motion, all-servo horizontal cartoner that is capable of either automatic or hand-loaded product infeed. At only 20.5 feet long, the KC-100F is ideal for contract packagers and companies who rely on fast and accurate packaging but have limited factory space for the size of a typical horizontal cartoner.

Other features of the KC-100F on display at PACK EXPO East include quick and simple changeover and product pushers which do not require tools, resulting in reduced downtime. The presented machine will be set up for handload infeed of different product types to show its versatility and efficiency. Speeds vary for hand load applications; however, the KC-100F can reach speeds of up to 240 cartons per minute with automated infeed.

The KC-100F is equipped with an open flap detection and rejection system, as well as no-carton-no product fill controls, similarly to PMI KYOTO’s packaging machinery. A Nordson Problue Flex hot melt system provides additional assurance of seal integrity. The KC-100F is built to last, adheres to Category 3 Safety compliance, is UL approved, and is powered by Allen-Bradley featuring ControlLogix with a PanelView HMI and Kinetix servos.
